  • Dahabiya / Nile Cruise tours

Description

Imagine sailing down the Nile on a sailing ship that could have come straight out of an Agatha Christie film. Sitting out on the deck and enjoying amazing views whilst cruising leisurely down between the banks of the Nile aboard the first-ever five stars Dahabeeyah sailing ships.

Dahabeeyah translated means Golden Boat in Egyptian. They were originally used by kings to travel on the Nile, and are beautifully crafted twin masted sailing ships. The five stars Dahabiyya aims to give guests a more than luxurious stay. It is 36m long and has 4 en-suite cabins, a very large Suite complete with its own terrace. There is also a spacious salon lounge with a bar and a 24m sundeck. A visit to Selsila temple can be achieved only with our dahabiyas.

Unlike the cruise ships, our Dahabyeas can berth at any suitable place on the banks of the Nile. This allows for a more flexible itinerary and a more enjoyable exploration of the river.
Dahabiya has many transcriptions some write it as dahabeah or dahabiah or dahabiyah or Dahabiya or Dahabeya and Dahabia but at the end they are all referring to the small boat that is sailing in the River Nile, going by the wind only! imitating Kings and Queens from the past, we are here to let you feel as you are one of them

Guests will be able to enjoy the most fabulous European and Egyptian cuisine. It is a very romantic ship in a romantic setting. Guests will actually be able to reach down and touch the Nile as they sail in a wonderful tranquil silence and see sights that haven’t changed for a few thousand years – yet with all the modern comforts that first-class travel offers.

The cruises are between Luxor and Aswan and will call at all the tourist highlights, such as Esna, Edfu, Kom Ombo as well as some of the more unusual smaller villages that the larger ships can’t access.
